Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. announced that it has received its first-ever Gold Certification in the PRIDE Index 2025, which evaluates initiatives related to LGBTQ inclusion.
The PRIDE Index, established in 2016 by the organization work with Pride, is Japan’s first evaluation framework aimed at creating workplaces where sexual minorities (LGBTQ+) can thrive. It assesses initiatives based on five key dimensions represented by the acronym “PRIDE”:
• Policy: Declaration of action
• Representation: Building a community of LGBTQ individuals
• Inspiration: Awareness-raising and educational activities
• Development: Supportive Human Resources systems and programs
• Engagement/Empowerment: Social contribution and external engagement
Our company has formalized and communicated its policies on human rights and DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) both internally and externally. In recent years, we have conducted training programs on themes such as “Understanding Diversity” and “Psychological Safety,” and hosted discussion sessions that challenge the concept of “what is normal,” all aimed at fostering a workplace where everyone can thrive.
Additionally, we are actively working to expand our network of Allies*—supporters of LGBTQ individuals—through internal communities and other initiatives.
Guided by the belief that “unique products are the product of unique people” Nippon Shinyaku wholeheartedly remains committed to supporting DE&I and creating a future of well-being for all.

*Ally: Derived from the English word meaning “friend” or “ally,” the word also refers to individuals who understand and support LGBTQ+ people.
