Establishment of the Nippon Shinyaku Medical Research Foundation
Kyoto, Japan, October 1, 2026 - Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. (Head Headquarters, Kyoto; President, Toru Nakai; hereinafter “the Company”) hereby announced that it established the Nippon Shinyaku Medical Research Foundation (hereinafter “the Foundation”), a general incorporated foundation dedicated to promoting medical and pharmaceutical research, on October 1, 2026.
Guided by our business philosophy of “Helping People Lead Healthier, Happier Lives,” the Company has continued to provide research grants for young researchers.
The Foundation was established to further promote these initiatives in a sustainable and highly public-interest manner. Through the promotion of research in the fields of medicine and pharmacy and the development of the next generation of researchers, the Foundation aims to contribute to the improvement of people’s health and welfare. Going forward, the Company will contribute to the creation of outstanding research outcomes in the medical and pharmaceutical fields through the Foundation’s activities.

To contribute to the improvement of people’s health and welfare by promoting research in medicine, pharmacy, and related fields, fostering researchers, and encouraging international exchange.

3. Research Grant Program
The Foundation plans to launch an open-call research grant program from FY2026, its first fiscal year. In FY2027, the Foundation will provide grants for research in the fields of hematological, muscular, pulmonary circulatory, and urological diseases, supporting innovative and pioneering research that contributes to the advancement of healthcare.
