Kyoto, Japan, February 17, 2025 - Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. (Nippon Shinyaku; Headquarters, Kyoto; President, Toru Nakai) announced that it has received an "A-" rating, indicating a leadership level, in the "Climate Change" and the “Water Security” category for 2024 from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international environmental non-profit organization.

Nippon Shinyaku has identified "Strengthening efforts to protect the global environment" as one of our issues of materiality and is engaged in “Climate change countermeasures,” “Promoting resource circulation,” "Conservating biodiversity," and "Contributing to food waste reduction."

In terms of Climate change countermeasures, we are promoting the switch to renewable energy for electricity consumption, the use of renewable energy through the installation of solar power generators, the reduction of energy consumption through equipment upgrades such as the replacement of lighting fixtures with LED lights, and the transition to low-carbon energy by introducing hybrid company-owned vehicles, all in accordance with the scientifically based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets* certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In addition, as part of our measures for water resources in Promoting resource circulation, we are striving to reduce wasteful water use through water conservation and to manage  wastewater quality in accordance with legal regulations.

We believe that these initiatives and the high level of transparency in information disclosure have led to the acquisition of an "A-" rating. We will continue our environmental conservation activities and aim to realize a sustainable society.
