Purpose of Use of Personal Information
Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. ("Nippon Shinyaku") will use the personal information that it collects and retains in the course of conducting its businesses set forth in Article 2 of the Articles of Incorporation (see Reference at the end of this document) for the following purposes.
1. Personal Information of Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, and other Healthcare Professionals
- (1) To provide, collect, review and communicate information on the proper use of products manufactured and/or sold by Nippon Shinyaku (the "Products");
- (2) To provide, collect, review and communicate information on the quality, safety and effectiveness of the Products;
- (3) To ascertain the users of the Products and improve communication between users;
- (4) To survey, review and respond to actual use of the Products and user needs;
- (5) To provide and collect information on, and to communicate and respond with respect to, side-effects, accidents, and recalls of the Products;
- (6) To conduct surveys and research in medical and pharmaceutical fields;
- (7) To provide and collect information regarding healthcare and science;
- (8) To authenticate user accounts on Nippon Shinyaku’s website for healthcare professionals and to communicate to website users;
- (9) To request and conduct clinical studies, post-marketing surveillance studies and other research; and
- (10) To make notifications and reports to government and other public offices and agencies.
2. Personal Information of Users of the Corporate Communications Department, Medical Information Center and Other Points of Contact
- (1) To review, investigate and respond to details of inquiries;
- (2) To contact and provide information to manufacturers, distributors, healthcare professionals and other agents of the Products; and
- (3) To make notifications and reports to government and other public offices and agencies.
3. Personal Information of Business Partners (Individuals and Corporate Officers/Employees) of Nippon Shinyaku and those who consider doing business with Nippon Shinyaku
- (1) To contact and provide information relating to business transactions;
- (2) To exercise rights or fulfill obligations based on contractual relationships;
- (3) To make notifications and reports to government and other public offices and agencies;
- (4) To respond to various types of inquiries;
- (5) To provide information on the Products, services, event planning, etc.;
- (6) To provide after-sales services related to the Products; and
- (7) To analyze information for sales promotion activities, marketing strategy planning, etc..
4. Personal Information of Users of the Mail Order Service
- (1) To deliver goods and settle payments;
- (2) To provide after-sales services related to the Products;
- (3) To provide information on products, services, events, etc.;
- (4) To respond to inquiries;
- (5) To request participation in surveys;
- (6) To conduct information analysis for sales promotion activities, marketing strategy planning, etc.; and
- (7) To make notifications and reports to government and other public offices and agencies.
5. Personal Information of Shareholders
- (1)To fulfill Nippon Shinyaku's obligations under the Companies Act and other laws and regulations, and respond to the exercise of shareholder rights;
- (2) To manage shareholders;
- (3) To send business reports and other materials; and
- (4) To implement measures to build a positive relationship with shareholders.
6. Personal Information of Applicants for Employment
- (1) To make hiring decisions, and to contact and provide information to applicants; and
- (2) To verify and analyze recruitment activities and for future reference in hiring.
7. Personal Information of Officers, Employees and Former Employees (Including Family Members)
- (1) For work-related communications and use, and to manage attendance, salary payment, personnel affairs, evaluations, professional development, tax and social security procedures, non-monetary benefits, health and safety, etc.;
- (2) To provide to contractors as necessary for the above purposes;
- (3) To contact and provide information to labor unions, health insurance unions, corporate pension funds, mutual aid associations, shareholding associations, alumni associations, and subsidiaries; and
- (4) To make notifications and reports to government and other public offices and agencies.
8. Personal Information of Participants of Clinical Studies, Clinical Research, Post-marketing surveillance etc., Patients and Persons who are subject of research.
- (1) To request and implementation of research and survey relating to clinical studies, clinical research and post-marketing surveillance etc.;
- (2) To study and review quality, effectiveness, safety and actual status of use of the Product;
- (3) To research and develop a new pharmaceutical product etc.;
- (4) To compensate for health damages attributable to clinical studies, clinical research and post-marketing surveillance etc.;
- (5) To file, apply, report, consult to/with a government authorities and a public institution; and
- (6) To use genomic data, base sequences and disease-related information that correspond to an individual identification code obtained from commercially available cultivation human cell lines, human cell lines or human-derived samples etc. acquired from joint research institutes and biobanks etc. or collected through clinical trials, for the purpose of drug discovery research, academic research, and analysis/evaluation for drug discovery and study for proper use of drug.
※Normally, information immediately identifying individuals such as names is not obtained, but genomic data, base sequences, and disease-related information corresponding to an individual identification code may be obtained. Please refer to here for information we publicly disclose pursuant to the ethical guidelines for life science and medical and health research involving human subjects.
9. Joint Use of Personal Data
- (1)The Company has concluded a contract with Nihon Ultmark Inc. (“Ultmark”) and is a member of the medical database hosted by Ultmark and jointly used by member companies. Please refer to Ultmark’s website (https://www.ultmarc.co.jp/privacy/shared_use/) for details, including jointly used personal data, joint users, the purpose of joint use, and the entity responsible for managing personal data.
- (2)Nippon Shinyaku will share personal data of healthcare professionals (including doctors, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, clinical laboratory technicians, nurses, pharmacies and drug shops, researchers related to medicine and pharmacy etc.) and journalists with Eli Lilly Japan K.K. in alliance on Jaypirca (generic name: pirtobrutinib) under the following conditions.
- ・Jointly Used Personal Data: Name, gender, name of workplace, address of workplace, phone number of workplace, field of specialization, e-mail address, year of graduation, alma mater, classification of clinic opened, name of medium and other items necessary to achieve the following purposes of Joint Use.
- ・Joint Users: Nippon Shinyaku, Eli Lilly Japan K.K.
- ・Purpose of Joint Use: (1) to provide products, (2) to provide and collect information related to proper use, quality, and safety and other product related information, (3) to provide, collect and analyze usage status, actual usage conditions, needs and other marketing information, (4) to provide, collect and review academic information and other business related information, (5) to conduct clinical trials, post-marketing monitoring and other surveys and research related to its business, (6) to submit notifications and reports in accordance with laws, regulations and other norms and (7) to provide information to a third party to the extent necessary for carrying out the preceding purposes above.
- ・Entity Responsible for Joint Use: Nippon Shinyaku, Eli Lilly Japan K.K.
- (3) Nippon Shinyaku will share personal data with Nippon Shinyaku Health Insurance Association under the following conditions.
